Question 164694: What is the Domain fo the Rational functions?
f(x)=3x +1 / x+6
I am not sure how to answer this. Do you do the division or is it as simple as all real number except zero will work?
Answer by Fombitz(32388) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
It's simple enough, but zero is not what you have to worry about.
The worry is when the denominator goes to zero because the function is then undefined.
In this case, the function is undeined when x+6=0, or x=-6.
The domain would then be all x except x=-6, or in interval notation,
(,)U(,)
