Question 161817: 3/(8x+1)+8/(2x+5)=1
Answer by checkley77(12844) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3/(8x+1)+8/(2x+5)=1
[3(2x+5)+8(8x+1)]/(8x+1)(2x+5)=1
6x+15+64x+8=16x^2+42x+5
16x^2+42x-6x-64x+5-15-8=0
16x^2-28x-18=0
2(8x^2-14x-9)=0
2(4x-9)(2x+1)=0
4x-9=0
4x=9
x=9/4
x=2.25 answer.
2x+1=0
2x=-1
x=-1/2
x=-.5 answer.
