Question 159114: Use factoring to solve the equation:
r^2 + 12r +36 = 14

Answer by checkley77(12844)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
r^2 + 12r +36 = 14
r^2+12r+36-14=0
r^2+12r+22=0

r=(-12+-sqrt[12^2-4*1*22])/281
r=(-12+-sqrt[144-88])/2
r=(-12+-sqrt56)/2
r=(-12+-7.48)/2
r=(-12+7.48)/2
r=(-4.52)/2
r=-2.26 answer.
r=(-12-7.48)/2
r=-19.48/2
r=-9.74 answer.
