Answer by Alan3354(69443) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1/3(x+2)^2= 3/4
---------------
Multiply by 3
(x+2)^2 = 9/4
Take sqrt of both sides
x+2 = +3/2 or -3/2
x = -1/2
x = -7/2
Answer by checkley77(12844) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1/3(x+2)^2= 3/4
(x^2+4x+4)/3=3/4 cross multiply
4(x^2+4x+4)=3*3
4x^2+16x+16=9
4x^2+16x+16-9=0
4x^2+16x+7=0
(2x+7)(2x+1)=0
2x+7=0
2x=-7
x=-7/2
x=-3.5 Answer.
2x+1=0
2x=-1
x=-1/2
x=-.5 Answer.
