1st carpenter DATA:
Time = 8 days/job ; Rate = 1/8 job/day
------------------------
Together DATA:
Time = 4 days/job ; Rate = 1/4 job/day
--------------------------
Other carpenter DATA:
Time = x days/job ; Rate = 1/x job/day
----------------------------
EQUATION:
rate + rate = together rate
1/8 + 1/x = 1/4
1/x = 1/8
x = 8 days for the other carpenter to complete the job.
