this is the equation that i had but i could not complete it
(20%*10gal)+(8%*Xgal)=12%(_______)gal

Let x be the gallons of punch that is 8% water.
.2*10=2
.08*x=.08x
.12*(10+x)=1.2+.12x
.
1.2+.12x=2+.08x
.12x-.08x=2-1.2
.04x=.8
x=20 gallons.

.2*10 + .08*20
2+1.6=3.6
.12*(10+20)=3.6
