Question 131471: I need help putting this rational expression in lowest terms:
72x^2y^3z^5
_____________
240xy^3z^7 I first simplified the 72 and 240 by dividing both by 8. I think I need to factor them before finding the lowest terms, but can't figure out how to factor the different variables.

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
72x^2y^3z^5
_____________
240xy^3z^7
================
You don't need to factor; you only need to divide:
=(72/240)*(x^2/x)*y^3/y^3)(z^5)/(z^7)
= (3/10)*x*1*(1/z^2)
= (3x)/(10z^2)
OR
=(3/10)(x/z^2)
================
