Answer by checkley71(8403) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
400/x=300/(x-14)
400(x-14)=300x
400x-5600=300x
400x-300x=5600
100x=5600
x=5600/100
x=56 mph. for the faster train.
56-14=42 mph. is the speed of the slower train
PROOF:
400/56=300/(56-14)
7.143=300/42
7.143=7.143
