Question 1200531: Give two functions f(x) and g(x) so that (f o g)(x)= h(x) = √x+3 + 1/3x + 9. Demonstrate algebraically that your choices work.
f(x) =
g(x) =
Answer by greenestamps(13200) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
There are too many possible interpretations of h(x) to make it worthwhile to spend any time trying to answer this for you.
Is "√x+3" or ?
Is "1/3x + 9" or ?
Re-post, making proper use of parentheses....
Note that if (f o g)(x)= h(x) then one possible "solution" is g(x) = h(x) and f(x) = x. (g(x) "does the whole thing" and f(x) leaves it unchanged.)
But I'm sure you are expected to come up with a more interesting (and educational) answer.
