Question 11824: the questions asks "determine whether the diagonals of parallelogram ABCD are perpendicular. explain your answer." the parallelogram's points are A=(5,0) B=(9,0) C=(10,-4) D=(6,-4) i do not know what to do. i have not dont parallelograms before i have just dont lines. thanks for all your help
Answer by longjonsilver(2297)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the 2 diagonal lines will be joining A to C and the other is joining B to D.

For AC, find the gradient
For BD, find the gradient.

If any 2 lines are perpendicular, then their gradients multiplied together will equal -1.

so once you have found the gradients, mutliply these 2 numbers together. Do you get -1? YES/NO...answer.
