If  "x is the length of one side of this fence" (in meters), then the length of an adjacent side (of ANY adjacent side) is  meters.


Thus the perimeter P(x) is equal to  P(x) = x +  + x +  = 2x +  meters.


Answer.  P(x) = 2x +  meters.
