Solve: (x+3)(x-5)<0
Draw a number line and label the points x = -3 and x=5
They divide the line into three intervals; you need to determine
which intervals contain solutions to your inequality.
Pick a "test" value from each interval to check in the inequality, as follows:
x=-4, (-4+3)(-4-5) = -1*-9 = 9 >0 so no solutions in (-inf,-3)
x= 0, (0+3)(0-5)=-15<0, so the interval (-3,5) is part of the solution.
x=6, (6+3)(6-5)=9>0, so no solutions in (5,+inf)
