Question 1085636: Hello! I keep getting 7.31 as an answer, but when my friend does it, she gets 4. Who is right?
For an object whose velocity in ft/sec is given by v(t) = −3t^2 + 6, what is its distance travelled, in feet, on the interval t = 0 to t = 2 secs?

For an object whose velocity in ft/sec is given by v(t) = -3t^2 + 6, what is its distance travelled, in feet, on the interval t = 0 to t = 2 secs?
--------------
velocity is the 1st derivative of displacement
--> displacement is the integral of velocity.
-----
INT(-3t^2 + 6) = F(t) = -t^3 + 6t + C
Ignore the C:
---
F(2) = -8 + 12 = 4
F(0) = 0
4 - 0 = 4
