if you have (5/x)+6-(/x)-6 then:
5/x-3/x+6-6
2/x+0
however if you have
5/(x+6)-3/(x-6)
you do not have the same denominators.
to get the same denomonators you need to multiply the first fraction by (x-6) & the second by (x+6).
[5(x-6)-3(x+6)]/(x+6)(x-6)
(5x-30-3x-18)/(x+6)(x-6)
(2x-48)/(x+6)(x-6)
2(x-24)/x^2-36
