Question 107667: If points A, B, and C lie on a coordinate line and points A and B
have coordinates 15 and 7 respectively, then which of the possible
coordinates for point C satisfy(ies) d(A, C) < d(B, C)?
a. 12
b. 17
c. both (a) and (b)
d. neither (a) nor (b)

d(A, C) < d(B, C) means C is closer to A than to B

the midpoint between A and B is (A+B)/2 or 11 ... for C to be closer to A, C must be more than 11
