"Add the following rational number" : "-15/4 and 7/4"
now the problem is the exact answer is I can see in my book
that the answer is -2 but in my calculation, my answer is
coming out to be -8/4. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT IS THE

Answer by Edwin McCravy(20060)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!

is the same as -2.

Why?

Because

1. a negative number divided by a positive number
   always gives a negative answer.

2. when 8 is divided by 4, the answer is 2.

So the answer is -2.
