Question 1045946: Please help me with my assignment.
1.Graph the line through (-2, 4) that is parallel to the line with equation x - 3y = 3
Answer by ewatrrr(24785) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x - 3y = 3
the standard slope-intercept form for an equation of a line is
where m is the slope and b the y-intercept.
solving for y
3y = x - 3
y = x/3 - 1 Green Line
m = 1/3
Line Parallel to this line also has m = (1/3)
***Using point-slope form,
y - 4= (1/3)(x + 2) This line goes through P(-2,4)
y = (1/3)x + 14/3 Blue Line
