If a town's population is 10000 and the population is found to
be growing by 1%, how long will it be before the town has 20000
people?
Population(after n years)= 10000*(1.01)n
20000= 10000*1.01^n
2 = 1.01^n
nlog1.01 = log2
n = log2/log1.01
n = 69.66 years
==================
Any growth that expands or contracts at a particular rate (trees,bee hives,invested money etc.) can be modeled by some exponential equation.
