Question 1027599: g+4/g-2=g-5/g-8
how do i solve this?

Answer by Boreal(15235)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
g+4/g-2=g-5/g-8
cross-multiply
(g+4)(g-8)=(g-2)(g-5)
expand
g^2-4g-32=g^2-7g+10
g^2 cancel each other
move 7g to left and 32 to right
3g=42
g=14
check the answer to make sure it will work. No zero denominators allowed.
18/12=9/6
This is true.
