Question 1026596: Could someone please check my work? "Find the inverse of f(x)=sqrt x-h. Identify the domain and the range of the inverse." I think I did the problem correctly, and got y=x^2+ h, then f^-1(x)=x^2 + h for the inverse? The domain and range I'm not sure about. Domain of inverse= (0, infinity). Range of inverse=(h, infinity). It also seems like I should write the domain and range with a less than or equal to sign or something? I appreciate any help and thank you for your time!
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
"Find the inverse of f(x)=sqrt(x-h). Identify the domain and the range of the inverse."
---
y = sqrt(x-h)
Domain:: x >= h
Range:: All Real Numbers >= 0
----
1st:: Interchange x and y::
x = sqrt(y-h)
2nd:: Solve for "y"::
y-h = x^2
y = x^2+h
-----------------------
Domain of inverse:: All Real Numbers >= 0
Range:: y >= h
-----------------------

Stan H.
