Question 1014189: You are given a function rule for a function f(x) and an interval [x1,x2] for which x2>x1. You determine that f(x2)>f(x1). Can you conclude that f(x) is increasing over the interval [x1,x2]? Explain.

No. f(x_2) > f(x_1) only tells you at f at two points, but you don't know anything about the behavior between x_1 and x_2.
