Find each value if f(x)=7x+2 and g(x)=4x-x/2.
1. f(-7) = 7*(-7)+2 = -49 + 2 = -47

2. g(8) = 4*8 - 8/2 = 32 - 4 = 28

3. f(8/14) = 7*(8/14) + 2 = 4+2 = 6

4. g(-6n) = 4(-6n) - (-6n)/2 = -24n + 3n = -21n

Find each value if f(x)=7x+2 and g(x)=4x-x/2.
1. f(-7) 2. g(8) 3. f(8/14) 4. g(-6n)
You substitute what is in parentheses in place of x.
I'll do 3 and 4. then you can do 1 and 2.
.
3) f(8/14)=7*(8/14)+2
=56/14+2=4+2=6
.
4)g(-6n)=4(-6n)-(-6n)/2
=-24n+6n/2=-24n+3n=-21n
