One person left at 9:00am and drove north at 60 miles per hr. Another person left the same rest stop and an hour later and headed south at 50 mph. What time were they 335 miles apart ?
***
let x=travel time of car traveling South
x+1=travel time of car traveling North
distance=speed*travel time
..
60(x+1)+50x=335
60x+60+50x=335
110x=275
x=2.5 hrs
What time were they 335 miles apart? 11:30 am
