Find how many man-days required to complete the work
3(9 * 10) = 270 man-days
:
Find how many men (m) required if they took 12 days
12m = 270
m = 270/12
m = 22.5 ~ 23 men required

Sorry I made a mistake here, 10 days only completed 1/3 of the job, so it would take 30 days with 9 people
therefore the equation should be
Find how many men (m) required if they took 32 days,(two days more)
32m = 270
m = 270/32
m = 8.4375 ~ 9 men still required, they would finish earlier on the 32nd day
