I think you mean 3/5 of a book in 30 minutes.
3/5 book/30 min=0.02 book/min
So in 40 minutes:
(40 min)(0.02 book/min)=0.8 book
ANSWER: The student will read 0.8 (or 80%) of the book in 40 minutes
