one works at a certain rate which doesn't change.

Let Charles rate of working be:
( 1 job ) / ( t hours ) =

Terry's rate of working is:
( 1 job ) / ( t - 60 hrs ) =
since shorter time means faster

If I add their rates of working, I get their
rate working together
