The question is a bit hazy. Is the father just working half his time which means mowing half the lawn?
If they both work the same amount of time then
x/4+x/6=1
x=12/5 =2.4 hours which means that he did .6 and she did .4
if he only mows half the lawn
means they both do half the lawn
x/6=1/2
x=3
