Find the relationship between a man-day and a boy day
12 man-days + 12 boy-days = 8 man-days + 20 boy days
12 md - 8 md = 20bd - 12 bd
4md = 8bd
divide both sides by 4d
m = 2b (1 man = 2 boys)

Find how many man-days required to do the job, replace 2 b with 1 m
3(4 m + 2m) = 18 man days to do the job or 36 boy days to do the job
