Kyle's build rate = 1 fence per 3 hours = 1/3 fences per hour
Ken's build rate = 1 fence per 4 hours = 1/4 fences per hour
Working together, their combined rate is 1/3 + 1/4 = 7/12 fences per hour
So it takes them 12/7 = 1 5/7 hours per fence
