10 men take 4 hours to repair 1 barn, so 10 men take 1 hour to repair 1/4 of a barn, so 1 man takes 1 hour to repair 1/40 of a barn, so 8 men take 1 hour to repair 8/40 = 1/5 of a barn, so 8 men repair a whole barn in 5 hours. Which makes sense: a 20% reduction in resources translates to a 20% increase in time to complete.
