Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Janet, an experienced shipping clerk,can fill a certain order in 10 hours. Felipe, a new clerk, needs 11 hours to do the same job. Working together, how long will it take them to fill the order?
--------
Equation:
rate + rate = together rate
1/10 + 1/11 = 1/x
-----
11x + 10x = 10*11
21x = 110
x = 110/21 = 5.24 hrs = 5 hrs 14.4 minutes (together time)
