1/x=1/3.5-1/8
1/x=(8-3.5)/3.5*8
1/x=4.5/28 cross multiply.
.5x=28
x=28/.5
x=6.22 hours for the second team working alone.
Proof:
1/8+1/6.2=1/3.5
(6.2+8)/8*6.2=1/3.5
14.2/49.6=1/3.5
49.6=3.5*14.2
49.6=49.7
