how many guys will it take to build the trench in 1/2 day?

 7 guys take 8 days for 1 trench

It takes 8 times as may guys to do 1

trench in 1/8 of that time, or 1 day, so

It takes 56 guys 1 day to do 1 trench

To do it in 1/2 that time will take twice as many guys

112 guys can do 1 trench in 1/2 day
