John can complete a piece of work in 3 days. Jojce in 9 days and James 4.5days.

Let x represent the time to do it together

Question states*** Per day KEY

 1/3 + 1/9 + 1/4.5 = 1/x

 9(4.5)x + 3(4.5)x + 27x = 9�3�4.5

                  81x = 9�3�4.5

                    x = 9�3�4.5/81 = 4.5/3 = 1.5
