Compute the number of vinyl tiles, measuring 6 in. each side, needed to tile a kitchen measuring 20 ft. by 16 ft.
.
Each tile is .5*.5 = 0.25 square feet
.
area of kitchen = 20*16 = 320 square feet
.
number of tiles needed = 320/.25 = 1280
(note: in reality, there will be waste. So, normally, you would add 10-15% more)
