Together rate: 1/2 job/hr
Jim rate: 1/x job/hr

Equation:
rate + rate = together rate
1/5 + 1/x = 1/2
2x + 10 = 5x
3x = 10
x = 3 1/3 hrs (time for Jim to do the job alone)
