Painter 12 hours
he does 1/12 job in 1 hour
Apprentice 36 hours
he does 1/36 of thejob in 1 hour


Together they will do 1/12 + 1/36
Together they will do 1/ 9 of the job in one hour
For 1 job they will take 9 hours
