If the crew can build 4 cars in two days, then the crew can build 2 cars in one day.
The crew has 6 workers, so each worker can build 1/6*2 cars per day = 2/6 = 1/3.
Each worker can build 1/3 of a car per day.

To build 6 cars, a single worker would need 18 days.
1/3*x = 6
x = 18
.
But the crew is not one worker it is 8 workers.
So each worker can do 1/8 of the work.
18/8 = 9/4 = 2 1/4 days
.
Another way to look at this problem is show that a 8 person team can build 8/3 car per day.
8/3*x = 6 cars
8x = 18
x = 18/8 = 9/4 = 2 1/4 days
.
This answer makes sense because we would expect the 6 workers to do the job in 3 days.
The two additional workers should contribute something.
