An inlet pipe can fill a water tank in 10hours, while an outlet pie can empty the same tank in 15 hours. By mistake, both pipes are left open. How long will it take to fill the water tank with both pipes open.
Let x = time (hours) it will take to fill tank
then
x(1/10 - 1/15) = 1
x(15 - 10) = 150
x(5) = 150
x = 30 hours
