Hi

It takes 2 persons 3 hours to complete a job, 

each of them completing 1/2 of the job in 3 hrs OR 1/6 of the job per hour

 3 people *1/6 of the job/hr = 1/2 the job per hour...

 would take the three of them 2hrs to complete the job
