the difference of a number and two times its reciprocal is 7/3. find the numbers
--------
Let the number be "x":
Equation:
x - 2(1/x) = 7/3
---
lcm = 3x
---
3x^2 - 6 = 21x
---
x^2 - 2 = 7x
x^2-7x-2 = 0
---
x = [7 +- sqrt(49-4*-2)]/2
----
x = [7 +- sqrt(57)]/2
--------
