Question 377556: One pipe takes 30 minutes to fill a tank. After it has been running for 10 minutes, it is shut off. A second pipe is then opened and it finishes the tank in 15 minutes. How long would it take the second pipe alone to fill the tank? -Thanks a lot!
Answer by edjones(8007) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the 1st pipe finishes 1/3 of the job.
It takes the 2nd pipe 15 min to do the remaining 2/3 of the job.
So it will take it 22.5 min to do the entire job.
