Question 377484: An experienced carpenter can panel a room 3 times faster than an apprentice hall can. Working together , they can panel the room in 6 h. How long would it take each one working alone to do the job?
Answer by edjones(8007)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The carpenter can do the job in c hr and the apprentice in 3c hr.
1/3c + 1/c = 1/6
2+6=c multiply each side by 6c.
c=8 hr and 3c=24 hr. Time it takes each working alone.
