Question 344055: a gallon of paint covers 500^2ft. how many gallons of paint are needed to apply two coats of paint to the four walls of a room measuring 14ft by 16ft with 8 foot ceilings?
Answer by checkley77(12844) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2(14*8)=2*112=224 ft^2 the 2 end walls.
2(16*8)=2*128=256 ft^2 the 2 side walls.
2(224+256)=2*480=960 ft^2.
960/500=1.92 or 2 gallons are required.
