Question 289297: Omar caught 8 fish in 6 hours. At this rate how many fish would he catch in 15 hours? How do I set up a formula for this problem?
Answer by watuhmelon123(1) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
i would solve this problem set up in fraction form
8 x <---- this is your fish
-- --
6 15 <---- this is the hour
and then cross multiply and solve
6x=120 (divide each side by 6 to get x by itself)
x=20
omar will catch 20 fish in a period of 15 hours
