Question 256685: The $75 cost for a party was to be shared equally by all those attending. Since 5 more people attended than what was expected, the price per person dropped by .50 cents. How many people attended the party?
Answer by richwmiller(17219) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
75/x=y
80/(x+5)=y-.50
75/20=3.75
80/25=3.20
Are you sure that it is .50 and not .55?
There are no integers for x that make y and y-.50 viable.
