Question 1182710: A jet plane is observed 400ft above the ground and is flying 180 mph to the west. A man jumps out of the plane creating a projectile motion and recorded that he is descending at a constant velocity of 6 ft/s after he reached an observable distance from the ground. If the man is to reach the ground 37 seconds after his immediate jump off the plane, determine the range of the initial position of the plane to the target landing of the man in the ground.

.

What is "observable distance from the ground" ?

What is this "constant velocity of 6 ft/s" ? --- I am asking because velocity is not only a magnitude: it is a vector and has its direction, too.

Could you clarify, PLEASE.

Math problem should not be formulated so carelessly . . .

Also, from the Internet

A typical commercial passenger jet cruises at a speed of about 460 - 575 miles per hour.

So, when you create your own Math problems, try to make it realistic.
