Question 1082144: 20 artisans can accomplish a job in 30 straight days, 25 artisans were hired at the beginning and 10 resigned after 20 days. How long will it take for the remaining artisans to finish the whole job?
Answer by jorel1380(3719) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
20 artisans x 30 days=600 artisan days
1 artist can do 1/600th of the job per day.
25 artisans x 20 days/600=500/600=5/6ths of the job finished after 20 days.
15/600 * x days=1/6th of the job to be finished
1/6 / 15/600=x
x=100/15, or 6-2/3 days to finish the job. ☺☺☺☺
