Answer by jorel555(1290)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If Daniel can encode a paper in 5 hours, then he encodes 1/5th paper per hour. Let n be the time it takes Dennis to encode a paper. Then:
1/5 + 1/n=1/2
2n+10=5n
10=3n
n=10/3
It takes Dennis 10/3 hours to encode the paper alone. ☺☺☺☺
