this is simply a work backwards problem if R = remainder then of the remainder is and of the remainder would be

If T = Total then multiply by 15 divide by 8
so
person 1 did 7/15ths of the work meaning units
Person 2 did 5/9ths of the remainder meaning units
Person 3 did units
